Classes:
Introduction to Fabric Theory – Beginner / Intermediate
Sun. 8/1. Noon – 1:30 PM MDT
$35 Class plus recording. | $35 recording only.
Prerequisites: Ages 14+. Some experience with russian climb, catcher’s wrap, S-wrap, and hip key is required.
In this introduction to fabric theory we’ll examine foundational fabric wraps, look at how they relate to one another, and learn how to know for sure that we’ve done them correctly. We’ll explore questions like what’s the difference between catcher’s wrap, S-wrap, and Z-wrap; how are russian climb and hip key the same; and what’s a Belay and why are there so many ways into it? We’ll use makeshift “fabrics” to explore wraps on the ground.
Equipment needed: Fabric or pseudo-fabric at least 15 feet long (it will work to tie things together like exercise bands, yoga straps, scarves, etc.) and something low and sturdy to attach your “fabric” to, like a couch leg. These do not need to support body weight, but do need to safely handle some tugging without moving or tipping over.
