Learning pirouettes on rope and fabric can take months, or a week. Knowing the theory behind the moves you’re going to attempt many times makes all the difference in how fast you learn them and how efficient they are in the end. In this workshop I’ll give an in depth look at my pirouette technique, which takes advantage of the momentum in your legs to carry you around. I’ll also give you the tools to confidently train the skill on your own from landing on the mat to catching and flowing back into a tempo. We’ll go through visualization exercises that have been essential in helping me to catch consistently. I’ll bring video examples of good, bad and better technique.
