Week A:
Tuesday 8/2:
Setting Your Gig Pay Rates with Ileigh Reynolds / Circus Boss
Need help setting rates for gig work? Whether you’re new to gig work, or you’ve been gigging for years, this workshop will help you be knowledgeable and confident about your rates. We’ll use the three pillars of Know your Numbers, Know your Market and Know your Value as a framework to help you set rates that support you and the industry at large. Fun fact: 80% of established performers that completed this course decided to raise their rates. Some even successfully tripled their rates – during the pandemic! Workshop includes worksheets and free access to our online course ‘The Circus Freelancer Gig Pay Guide’ after the live workshop.
Wednesday 8/3:
Nurture Yourself with Thai Massage, Self-Massage & Breathing: Upper Body with Yuki Tsuji
This workshop combines the healing art of Thai massage, soothing self-massage and breathing technique which can be the ultimate self-care routine for your daily life. With Thai massage, we will use hands, feet, arms and legs to guide the receiver through a series of yoga poses with fluid movements, gentle pressure and stretching. In this workshop, we will work particularly on the tightness and tension of the upper body. We will work on our chest and abdominal area with self-massage to relax and calm the nervous system, followed by the soothing breathing exercises. This whole session will cultivate a sense of nurturing, grounding, restoration and the empowerment for self-healing.
Thursday 8/4:
Networking & Marketing for Performance Work with Ileigh Reynolds / Circus Boss
Looking for performing opportunities? This workshop will demystify networking and marketing strategies for performance work. We’ll start by getting clear on what type of work you want to be doing and how to write a job search mission statement. Then you’ll learn how to be more effective with your time and build a habit of networking in 5 minutes a day. We’ll wrap that up by talking about how to tailor your promo kit and marketing approach for your desired target audience, and cover how to be more successful when applying, auditioning or pitching your work. That’s a lot to cover in 90 minutes, so we’ll have worksheets to take home with you and continue to build this important foundation!
Week B:
Tuesday 8/9:

Gena offers tips, guidance, and motivation for artists on how to reach your ideal client, teach your ideal class, and gain the attention that you want to attract. We discuss not only marketing yourself, but how to stay true to your brand by accessing who you are as an individual. We will first look at how to use your community as an asset instead of competition then we dive into how to identify what makes YOU and your offerings unique.
