Kinesiology for Dancers & Aerialists

Kinesiology for Dancers & Aerialists – Sundays 2-4pm –
with Mandy Hackman and Mary Ann Foster.

10 week session: September 15 – November 24 (No Class Oct. 20)
*Students must sign up by the 2nd class to participate (Sept. 22).

This course focuses on experiential exploration of muscle and joint function, applying kinesiology to neuromuscular patterning exercises designed to improve muscle balance, joint alignment, and the body-mind connection. In this class, we will study individual body patterns to identify personal strengths and address weaknesses. We will systematically explore the major muscle and joint actions to improve range and control of movement, enhance performance skills, and prevent injury through more efficient and smarter recruitment strategies.

  • Ages 18+ (special consideration can be made for younger students that are prepared for this class)
  • $500 (Includes a personal assessment and reference materials.)
  • Prerequisites: At least 3 years of movement background. Knowledge of basic anatomy.
